This outpatient procedure consists of inserting a video camera into the uterus to detect possible alterations that cannot be detected with a normal ultrasound. This procedure has the advantage that it does not involve any injuries in the patient’s abdomen and allows, in addition to making a diagnosis, to perform a trans-surgical treatment such as removing a polyp, a fibroid or a foreign body such as an IUD.
In order to perform this procedure, sedation (vein anesthesia) will be required in our operating room. Therefore, preoperative examinations and an assessment from our anesthesia staff will be requested. You must follow the recommended fasting schedule by your treating doctor and the post-operative instructions that will be given to you once you are discharged.
