This outpatient procedure is mainly indicated for patients who have uterus or ovarian adhesions, who have cysts in the ovary or who wish to check and treat a possible endometriosis. Laparoscopy is performed under general anesthesia and does not require punctures in the back. Small incisions of less than 5 cm are made in the abdomen. The patient must comply with some requirements prior to the procedure such as pre-surgical examinations, anesthetic evaluation and fasting.
As hysteroscopy, this procedure has the advantage of being diagnostic and therapeutic, that is, the diseases described previously can be treated during the same surgical procedure. Once the procedure has been performed, your doctor will indicate the next steps and the recommendations you should follow at home.
