Programmed intercourse is an Assisted Reproduction technique that basically consists of monitoring the menstrual cycle, both hormonal and through ultrasound, with the aim of determining the days with the greatest possibilities of pregnancy. This will help your treating doctor to recommend the days you should have sex.
This technique can be performed by means of a natural cycle (occupying a single egg) or with an induced cycle (applying certain medications to produce more eggs than normal). The chances of pregnancy depend on the age of the patient, the number of eggs produced, the state of the couple’s semen and the endometrial receptivity.
This technique is not suitable for all patients, it is mainly recommended for young patients with both permeable tubes and a normal spermiogram. At UR Managua we can assist you in deciding with the help of yourself, your partner and our staff if this treatment is the most appropriate for you.
